EnemyLove: the universal pathway to peace

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.” Matthew 5:44-45

A week of prayer and fasting from 1 to 8 August at St Andrew's on the Terrace, Wellington.

Come and join our inclusive community of peace and love for seven days and nights of prayer and fasting and EnemyLove.

Remembering in prayer all victims of war (especially the victims of the illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan) and victims of rendition and torture. Join us in fasting and prayer for impris-oned whistle-blowers and peacemakers everywhere. Let us pray for ourselves and all our war-waging brothers and sisters who have embraced hatred leading to violence and who have rejected peace-making, non violence and enemylove.

Come with contributions for the peace shrine at St. Andrews and dialogue/insights towards the on going clarification of EnemyLove. All welcome

Beginning - 9am Monday 1st August

For those doing the full 7 day fast there will be a last breakfast (involving plenty of fruit).

Cycle of Prayer - All day and night

Starting on every second hour there will be a short prayer liturgy for about 15 minutes. Following this, whoever is in the room will decide what they want to do next. For example a discussion on enemylove, mediation, yoga, sleeping, taize, a classic peace text reading aloud and so on. This Cycle of prayer will run every 2 hours (on the even hours 2, 4, 6, o’clock etc.) and open to the public between 8am and 10pm each day of the fast.

Conclusion - 6pm Monday 8th Aug

All friends are invited back to St. Andrews for a breakfast celebration after the all day High Court hearing to decide if the 3 Waihopai Ploughshares Christians will be given a trial in relation to the Crowns Civil suit against them.
